The notification also provides horizontal reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD). For Generalists, the indicated PwBD vacancies are VI – 2, HI – 2, OC – 4 and MD/ID – 3. For Hindi Officers, VI – 1, while HI, OC and MD/ID are indicated as 0.

Nationality
Candidates must satisfy the nationality/citizenship conditions specified in the notification. Educational Qualification
For Administrative Officer – Generalists
Candidates must possess a Graduate Degree/Post Graduate qualification in any discipline from a recognised university.
The notification specifically states that disciplines may include Engineering, Arts, Science, Commerce, Agriculture, Data Science and other disciplines.
Minimum marks required:
- 60% marks for general candidates
- 55% marks for SC/ST/PwBD candidates

For Administrative Officer – Hindi Officers
Candidates must have a Master’s Degree meeting any one of the educational qualification combinations prescribed by UIIC involving Hindi and English.

- Master’s Degree in English with Hindi as a compulsory/elective subject or medium at degree level.

Descriptive Test – Hindi Officers
The Descriptive Test carries 50 marks and has a duration of 60 minutes.
It includes:

Negative Marking
There is a penalty for wrong answers in both the Preliminary and Main examinations.
For every wrong answer, one-fourth of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted.
There is no penalty for unanswered questions.
UIIC AO Final Merit
For Generalists, the marks obtained in the Tier-II Objective Test and Interview will be considered for the final merit list in the ratio of:

The Preliminary Examination and Descriptive Test marks will not be considered for the final merit list.
For Hindi Officers, the Tier-II Main Examination, comprising Objective and Descriptive Tests, and the Interview will be considered in the ratio of:

UIIC AO Salary 2026
The basic pay scale for Administrative Officer (Scale I) is:
₹82,485 – 4,050 (14) – ₹1,39,185 – 4,390 (4) – ₹1,56,745
Apart from the basic pay, officers will be eligible for admissible allowances and benefits according to Company rules.

Probation Period

During probation, officers are required to pass the non-life Licentiate Examination conducted by the Insurance Institute of India for confirmation of their services.
Five-Year Service Bond
Selected candidates appointed on the regular payroll will be required to undertake to serve the Company for a minimum period of five years, including the probation period.
Resignation before completion of the bond period can attract liquidated damages as specified in the notification, along with ₹35,000 towards onboarding and integration cost.
Posting and Transfer
UIIC states that vacancies are substantially in the Western and Southern Zones, and selected candidates are likely to be posted mostly in offices in these zones.
The initial period of posting will be for a minimum of five years, during which requests for transfer to a place of choice will not be entertained.
