Eligibility Criteria

1. Super Specialist Medical Officer (Second-in-Command)

  • MBBS or equivalent, enrolled with a State Medical Register
  • Completed rotating internship
  • Postgraduate degree/diploma in the relevant specialty
  • DM/M.Ch. or equivalent, with 3 years’ experience in the super-specialty
  • Permanent registration with MCI/NMC/State Medical Council

2. Specialist Medical Officer (Deputy Commandant)

  • Recognized medical qualification (Allopathic system)
  • Completed rotating internship
  • PG Degree/Diploma in the relevant specialty, plus 1.5 years’ experience after PG Degree (or 2.5 years after PG Diploma)

3. Medical Officer (Assistant Commandant)

  • Recognized medical qualification (Allopathic system)
  • Permanent registration with MCI/NMC/State Medical Council
  • Completed (or currently undergoing) compulsory rotating internship

Age relaxation: SC/ST — 5 years, OBC (NCL) — 3 years, Government servants — 5 years, Ex-Army SSCOs — 5 years, and further relaxations for SC/ST/OBC government servants (up to 10 and 8 years respectively).


Selection Process for CAPF Medical Officer 2025

The selection follows this sequence:

  1. Documentation — Verification of original certificates and testimonials
  2. Interview — 200 marks; qualifying marks 40% (80/200)
  3. Physical Standard Test (PST) — Height, chest (male only), weight
  4. Medical Examination Test (MET) — Conducted by a Board of Medical Officers; candidates declared “Fit” or “Unfit,” with a Review Medical Examination (RME) option for those found unfit

Height relaxation of 2–3 cm applies for Gorkhas, Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Dogras, Marathas, candidates from Sikkim, the North-East, Himachal Pradesh, J&K, and Ladakh, and for Scheduled Tribes.
