If you have been waiting for a solid government job opportunity in 2026, this one is worth paying close attention to. CERSAI โ the Central Registry of Securitisation Asset Reconstruction and Security Interest of India โ has just opened applications for 16 permanent positions at its New Delhi head office. This is a Government of India undertaking, which means job security, great pay, and real career growth.
I came across this notification recently and honestly, it’s one of the better ones this year. Not thousands of vacancies with massive competition โ just 16 focused roles for experienced professionals. That itself makes it worth a serious look.
Most people haven’t heard of CERSAI, but it quietly plays a huge role in India’s banking and financial system. It maintains the national registry of security interests โ basically a database that banks use when someone takes a loan against property or assets. It also manages Central KYC records and the BUDS portal (related to unregulated deposit schemes). It’s backed by the Government of India and regulated by RBI, so working here is as stable as it gets.
CERSAI is looking for people across six levels โ from Assistant Manager all the way up to Deputy General Manager. Here’s the quick breakdown:
It depends on which post you’re applying for. Operations and admin roles need a simple graduation with 50% marks. IT roles need B.Tech, BCA, or MCA. The legal role needs an LLB. HR profile needs an MBA in HR. The eligibility criteria are pretty standard for a PSU of this level.
Age limits vary by level โ 35 years for Manager and Assistant Manager posts, 40 years for Chief Manager and Senior Manager, and 45 years for AGM and DGM roles. Standard relaxations apply for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD and Ex-Servicemen candidates as per Government rules.
The application fee is โน1,000 for General and OBC candidates. SC, ST, and PwBD candidates pay only โน500 โ and the good news is that this fee is refundable if you actually show up for the written exam.
For most posts, it’s a two-step process โ an online exam followed by a personal interview. The written test carries 150 marks and covers Numerical Ability, Aptitude, General Knowledge, Professional Knowledge, and English. You get 120 minutes. There is negative marking, so don’t guess randomly.
The interview carries 100 marks. Candidates who clear the written test with at least 50% marks are called for the interview โ up to six times the number of vacancies per post.
One exception: the DGM (Operations) post skips the written test entirely and goes straight to Group Discussion and Interview.
That gives you about a month. Don’t leave it for the last day โ the CERSAI website might get slow with traffic closer to the deadline.
Honestly, yes โ especially if you have banking or PSU experience. The pay is competitive, the organisation is small and focused (which means less bureaucracy), and these are permanent positions with real career progression. If you’re in the 35โ45 age bracket with the right background, this is exactly the kind of opportunity that doesn’t come around too often.
